Your Wedding Music

Music forms an important part of any celebration, and the refined piano sounds of Chris Malkinson will help make your wedding experience truly memorable. Chris normally plays a 3 hour session to cover the ceremony and drinks reception, and is often asked to also play for the first part of the meal.

If your chosen venue has a good quality (and tuned!) piano in the right location, Chris will be delighted to play it. If not - no problem! Chris is self contained and fully mobile with his own compact, portable keyboard, which accurately reproduces the sound of a grand piano. It can also faithfully emulate the sound of a church organ, harpsichord, or string section, if required. It does not take long to re-set the equipment in a different room after the ceremony.

Ceremony

Chris plays light classical pieces as background music to set the scene as your guests are seated. This usually consists of well known melodies by composers such as Bach, Handel, Pachelbel, Chopin, Debussy, and Fauré. Chris will also perform the couple’s preferred music for the processional, signing of the register, and the recessional.

Reception

Once the formalities are completed and your guests start to mingle, Chris will loosen things up a little by playing a more contemporary jazz and pop set. You will hear fine renditions of the timeless standards of Gershwin and Cole Porter, the best pop ballads of artists such as Lionel Richie, Billy Joel, and Elton John, plus your favourite melodies from musicals, TV, and film.

Chris is adept at reading an audience, and has an uncanny ability to play the right tune at exactly the right moment. With many years experience of taking requests at the top London hotels and on board luxury cruise liners, he now has hundreds of tunes at his fingertips. There is always something for everyone.
